That seems to be about the only workable solution.  

I've been hashing (pun) things over while at work.  I can't think of any
other headers that I could filter on that wouldn't also be in a normal
email.  Maybe I could analyze the body and if the same [BOUNCE] message
appeared twice in the body, that could cause it to silently drop, but then
how do you know that messages are being dropped?  How can you with 100%
certainty tell that it's not dropping legitimate messages.  Once again, your
suggestion sounds so much simpler that it embarrasses my brain cell to have
even considered anything else.
