reason for duplicate messages?

Besides the user inadvertently subscribing themselves twice under two 
different email addresses (which i must say,in this particular case 
I'm trying to troubleshoot, is not unlikely...) what other reasons 
might there be for a subscriber to be receiving duplicates of all 
list messages? It only seems to be happening to one subscriber.
