Dear fellow list readers -
This is most unusual...i have recently gone to add a new list to be
hosted by my majordomo services, and when i went to test it, i received
the following:
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
(reason: service unavailable)
(expanded from: majordomo@userfriendly.net)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
Message delivered to mailing list majordomo@userfriendly.net
smrsh: wrapper not available for sendmail programs
554 5.0.0 "|/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"... Service unavailable
so like a good boy, i went to the websites and checked the FAQ and the
archives and found similar answers which i followed. I made sure the
perms were set correctly, etc. Then i created a symlink in /etc/smrsh as
instructed (i am running redhat-7.0, majordomo-1.94.5, sendmail-8.11.3)
as follows:
[root@niteowl /etc/smrsh]# ls
lrwxrwxrwx 1 majordom mail 26 Apr 22 12:30 wrapper ->
/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper
yet i still receive the same error back from sendmail when i go to test
the mew list, and i am also now seeing the same errors just trying to
send an email to majordomo@userfriendly.net to request help.
Any suggestions on what to look for? Either majordomo or sendmail-wise?
This stuff ALL used to work, now for some reason it appears that either
my symlink is wrong, smrsh is broken, or sendmail...not sure.
Much appreciation in advance
