It would be my guess that your symptoms are related to HTML (mime) 
messages going to a list that utilizes fronters or footers.  Or it
could also be possible, that your list is moderated and the extra
messages should be going to the list-approval address.

How about some more details about your list?  Aliases, .config file,
general majordomo.cf info?
