Stripping attachments

I am not sure if this question has already been asked, but is there
currently a way to strip attachments to mails sent to majordomo and have
it placed in a separate location (NFS mounted drive, SMB shared drive)
for future retrieval purposes?

If not, I guess I have to write a Perl script to do that.  Where should
I start?
