My server is configured to do vhosting (and different than some others) and
while the basic list works, the other tools digest (digestify) now will the
archive2.pl or archive.pl. I came up with a workaround to produce the daily
digest using a cron korn shell script (from the digest of the mainlist),
BUT, I sure need something like "archive.pl" to strip out all of the extra
headers before sending out the once/day digest. Sometimes the headers are
larger than the messages... so not pretty & this is a large list, so the
digest geets very long and muddled of course.
Part of my workaround includes keeping a copy of all of the daily mainlist
messages. I lookdea the Perl script archive.pl and it looks like it would
get rid of the headers if it could be rewirked to run on my server. My
sendmail is modified to recognize different vhost aliases and there is a
xxvhost.cf for each domain. The archive script seems to want the main
majordomo.cf.
So, I've racked my brain but my "Perl5" script skills are nil. This made me
wonder if I installed a UNIX/Majordomo system on a local station,
downloaded the daily "mainlist.archive" files and run them thru the local
system and send them out... would that work? ...or any other ideas?
Thanks for any suggestions....
