I wondered about that myself.  Seems like you'd gain little FOR INTRANET
LISTS (when most the the sbuscribers' mail services are on the same
machine as MD) :
- when MD resides on the mail server, the mail goes directly to the
subscriber's INBOX....traffic is internal
- when MD resides OFF the mail server, the mail has to go over the
network, be intake-processed...then do what was done above
Or so my purely theoretical take would be....

Anyone had real life experience?
