hi kit..

you need to chmod 755 or chmod 750 .... on your majordomo directory 
and chmod 640 on your majordomo files

chmod 755 /usr/lib/majordomo
chmod 755 /usr/lib/majordomo/lists
chmod 640 /usr/lib/majordomo/lists/family

-- and similarly fix the Owner and Group IDs
chown majordomo.mj for each of the above

-- leave /usr and /usr/local alone... or you'd find more whacky problems
