It looks like the problem Kirk reported a couple of weeks ago is not with
the -q30m setting. Based on a suggestion outside this list, last night I
kill'ed sendmail and started it again with 'sendmail -bd'. Then we sent out
an email to our 4,000 member contact list about 10:00pm. When I checked
the system between 11pm and midnight, it seemed to be processing fine
(about 2500 entries returned by mailq cmd); but then, I didn't know what to
look for. The /var/spool/mqueue directory had three files in it and only
the first letter of each was different.
This morning, I noticed 3 copies of the message in my inbox; and the same
in a few others I checked. Now there are more files in /var/spool/mqueue.
Only the 2Qij29972 files were there last night (and one that started with
'x', I think).
