I look at this as a "one time" and "informative" welcome/intro that never
has to be dealt with again.  If you feel your subscribers would be intolerant
of this, try shutting off the welcome message in your listname.config file.
welcome = no

If someone does want to see the intro, they can send a command to majordomo
to get it.

intro listname

Perhaps this is a bug, perhaps it is by design, but you have options to solve
the situation at your disposal.  The choice is yours.
