Using lists as sub list to a master distribution

I am using a sublist as a member of a master list. I am in a shared
environment on a host using majordomo. I have over 10 sublists with
4000 members in each. The master list then has the 10 sublists as its
members. Does the master config file override the config files for
each of the sub lists? Do I have to point the sublists in the
direction of the master list config file or would this be the default?
