I didn't follow proper protocol myself.  You should send to list with CC to 
originator.

No it doesn't add to etd/aliases.  You need to add the config in Sendmail to use 
the majordomo_aliases file in addition to it's own aliases file.  See the Major 
Cool documentation for this.
