Just a couple of observations:
1. Whenever a new system goes online, you have to cross your fingers. The
chances that it will go up flawlessly, no glitches whatsoever, is remote. In
fact the only time that has EVER happened to me was the first time I
installed Linux; that installation went right the first time, and I was
simply dumbfounded.
Fat chance that ever happening again in my lifetime.
2. It is unwise to blame Majordomo. Too many people have gotten it working
without a hitch, but few have done so without doing some work on it. That's
why this list exists, to help ease that process. Maybe you're right, you CAN
write a bunch of scripts to do the same thing (mostly that's what Mj is, a
"bunch of scripts") but I simply think it is a bit hasty to decide, because
you've had some glitches (resulting perhaps--and please don't take this
amiss, I merely point out the possibility--from insufficient testing before
you unleashed the new set-up on a list of ten thousand folks) that the
system is worthless, and write us just to tell us so.
A couple of things to consider, anyway.
