I just brought up a new Linux 7.1 system, and after installing majordomo
1.94.5 I have received the following error:

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
smrsh: wrapper not available for sendmail programs
554 5.0.0 "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"... Service
unavailable

I added a symbolic link at /etc/smrsh (ln -s /usr/local/wrapper.sh
wrapper.sh) but the same error is reported.

Could someone please point the professor in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

Dan Woolman, PhD

Maybe it is because I am on a hotel provided internet connection, but
the 5.5.0 error is probably related more to your network configuration
than it is the sendmail or majordomo configuration.  Do this;

telnet svrdom01.cmaontheweb.com 25<enter>
and you should see something like this;
Trying 204.252.239.230...
Connected to 204.252.239.230.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 reserve.guest-tek.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.9.3/8.8.7; Wed, 15 Aug 2001
20:21:36 -0700

The line above will reveal the version number of your sendmail. I do
not know if I connected to a proxy or to your mail server from the
information above. The guest-tek domain is part of the hotel service,
so I think I got a proxy here.

To get out of the connection type "quit<enter>" without the quotes.

Now, about DNS. I look up nameservers for your domain and only get one
name/address returned. You are required to have 2 nameservers for your
domain. When I do a look up of MX records for your domain, I get two
names that themselves do not resolve in DNS.

THAT is probably what your 5.5.0 error is about.

file to not use the resend it will send mail to the list but then i lose
all the features in the confg file. But when i change it to use the
resend i get the mail error. Here is wat i am using for both
configurations (taken from aliases file)
