Hello All:
The bane of novice majordomo users is the permissions glitch. I've got
mine. For a test list, this is part of the error message:
550 :include:/usr/local/majordom/lists/test... Cannot open
/usr/local/majordom/lists/test: World writable directory
Message delivered to mailing list test-out
554 test-out... aliasing/forwarding loop broken
Message delivered to mailing list owner-test@bigdaddy.mannlib.cornell.edu
System facts:
MD 1.94
Redhat 6.2
perl 5.00503
I've checked majordomo using the config-test. I did the test as a user
other then root or majordom. The test checked out ok.
I've checked the FAQ. Item 2.12 - I get "aliasing/forwarding loop broken"
suggests problems with the directory permissions. This is the symptom my
system is experiencing. At this time my directory permissions are:
755 root:root /
755 root:root /usr
755 root:root /usr/local
777 majordom:majordom /usr/local/majordomo
777 majordom:majordom /usr/local/majordomo/lists
At this time, I'm assuming my directories are world writable. Can anyone
suggest another approach to this problem?
Thanks.
Greg
