Subject: Maximum number of characters in a majordomo list name?

I'm still in the process of installing and configuring the majordomo
software, on a system that regrettably only permits eight character user
names (sigh), and I wasn't able to find the answer in the FAQ or the
searchable archives.

What's the maximum number of characters in a Majordomo list name?

I know that for listserv (which I'm also testing), it's 80 characters at
the outside, and may be less. I shudder to imagine 80-character list
names, but the people I'm installing the mailing lists for think that 80 is
too low.

Does anyone on this list know the max for Majordomo? My thanks in advance.

cheers, Elizabeth
