a member of one of my lists just wrote up a little patch to MHonArc to
hide addresses; i'm planning to roll it out shortly.

i'm also working on a modest php web page set up which would allow
users to sign up for web posting access; they would have to give their
email address and do a confirmation step in response to a piece of
email, and then their addresses would be appended to a file which
could be added to restrict_post

if anyone is interested in this stuff, i'll see about bundling it up.
