Subject: extension blocking for attachments?

This may have been discussed here before and I have briefly scanned the
archives. I need to block certain extensions of attachments that are sent
through the list. The purpose is to block potential viruses. I originally
thought that I would try to block viruses through the MTA (Postfix). Then
I thought that it would possibly simpler to do at least a partial
filtering directly through Majordomo, if that is possible. The server is
only used for hosting the lists, so there are no POP accounts.

So, is this possible, or should I be looking at something like Amavis and
a virus scan program for Unix?
