We are setting up Majordomo on a Solaris box with sendmail outside our
firewall and am interested in making Majordomo as secure as possible.
The top section of the Majordomo install document (vers 1.94.5) recommends
setting the majordomo home directory to 0750 and then mentions that
changes will have to be made to the configureation of sendmail but that
the changes are too lengthly to go into. It then suggests checking the
FAQ and/or the majordomo-users group.
In looking through the FAQ, I didn't see anything that seemed to address
the sendmail config issue for security and tried the searchable
majordomo-users list at http://www.hpc.uh.edu/majordomo-users/ only to
find that it's link has been moved to an unknown location.
Anyways, if I did miss the info in the FAQ about making changes to the
sendmail config for better security, could someone please point out
(nicely) the question number in the FAQ to check.
Also, if anyone knows the new address of the searchable majordomo-users
list, that also may help me. I did find the monthly archives of the list
but going through each thread month by month didn't yeld much.
And lastly, if anyone is familar with the necessary sendmail config
changes, if they could please pass them on, it would be really helpful.
We are using sendmail vers 8.9 and I did see a reference in the FAQ about
it.
