I have many passwd files on my virtual
server.
All the way down at root level there is an entry in
/etc/psswrd that looks like this
majordomo:x:91:91:Majordomo List
Manager:/usr/lib/majordomo:/bin/bash
Then further up the file directory structure
in the site I'm trying to work with there is another passwd file in
/home/virtual/site1/fst/etc/passwd that looks like this
majordomo:x:503:503:Majordomo List
Manager:/usr/lib/majordomo:/dev/null
My site is also using shadowed password files if
that matters.
I've spent the entire day researching these things
and I still don't know what to do about this.
I need to choose a UID and GID to continue with
this installation. But I don't know what to pick, or why? Or what
other considerations there might be.
Does anyone have experience with virtual servers
that can point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Darrell Hensley
