Thanks, Alvin. smrsh is not necessary. It is on my system and must be
configured to run in place of /bin/sh shell, but is not essential to
running MJ. So, smrsh is not part of the problem.
My suspicions are the new smmsp stuff and possibly the submit.cf, certainly
a permissions problem. The problem is that nothing shows up in any of the
logs to give me a hint. I can send a posting and see majordomo run (so the
wrapper is executed okay) in the maillog, but nothing gets sent out via the
list aliases and nothing is stuck in the mail queues. It's not seeing my
mail lists--nor any of my other includes.
MJ is the only program that gives me so many fits on major upgrades,
although it is my mail list manager of choice.... eh, well maybe FrontPage
extensions are worse.
Got to find the answers so I can continue to upgrade. Sigh.....
