I have the same problem.  And most of my mailing list is hotmail users.  Once 
in a while I get a message about the 18 recipients to whom delivery had 
failed.  My guess is that it's triggering some sorta spam protection on the 
hotmail server, since it's the same message going to multiple users.
One solution may be to get all your hotmail users to add the mailing list to 
their list of "safe" addresses.  Also, delaying the message and sending to 
one or two recipients every few minutes might work.
