If you are running linux, I am surprised you did not elect to
use the RPM package to install majordomo.

As for sendmail-8.12.7, you may need to add your trust statement
in a different file, like "submit.cf".

Redhat 8.0 comes with mailman as a list management tool.  That
package also has a link called wrapper in /etc/smrsh.  Did you
get rid of that one?  "Service unavailable" usually means there
is something wrong with the link, or it's missing.  Were you
the root user when you created the link?
