Last week I posted a query about bad addressing and a potential problem with
x400. This is a follow-up to report the solution.
The problem: The list address was "unknown" and mail sent to the list was
returned to the sender.
In short, the mail that non-profit people tried to send never made it out of
the building. Their server was set to look for internal addresses before
routing mail out. The router didn't know where to send the mail, so it
returned it to the sender saying that the address did not exist. Majordomo
never saw it (and that's why I didn't receive any bounces from Majordomo, I
just realized).
They disabled this function, so all should be well.
