I have an interesting setup in my list. I send the message to list 'xx' of
50 recipients
1) None of the recipients are able to post/reply to the list. ('no-one, the
source is only one person', imagine it as a one way feed for news update)
2) None of the recipients see my email address or name, instead they see the
list name 'xx' on both the sending and receiving email headers.
The idea is to personalize their email letting them know which email address
they used. So all I'M really trying to do is to let them know what address
the message has been sent to incase they can't remember where they're
subscribed to. As far as load on the server I'm not concerned about it.
Let me know your thoughts.

This question gets asked several times a year and should be added to
the FAQ.
The answer is Yes. There is a way to customize majordomo to do this.
The caveat is No, nobody has done this or seems willing to, because
the increased workload on the MTA (mail server) would be outrageous.
Not to mention the additional disk space and CPU requirements this
kind of load would generate with a busy list.
Currently, majordomo simply passes the entire list of addresses that
belong to a list, along with the received message, to sendmail (MTA)
to be delivered. If you customize/personalize each message to show
who the recipient is, majordomo could only give sendmail one message
per recipient. Imagine the difference in load between one email
with 50,000 recipients vs. 50,000 emails with one recipient each?
