List protection using virtusertable not working in sendmail 8.12.8

Hi

After upgrading our sendmail from 8.11.x to 8.12.8, we found that
the protection that we used to protect moderated list with
virtusertable is not working anymore. It simply bounced all
emails to a list with the error: 
(reason: 553 5.3.0 list-outgoing@xxxxx... User does not exist)
even if the mail is sent to list@xxxxx.

We are forced to remove the list protection from the virtusertable
in order to make the list work again.

Does anyone catch similar problem? We are using majordomo 1.94.4.
