hi ya kenneth

yup.. we changed one of our boxes from 8.9.x and had
some problems to deal with
	-- owner and group ids  for smmsp
	-- directory permissions

try theses hints  to get things working that used to work
	http://www.Linux-Sec.net/Mail/Sendmail-Install-HOWTO/permissions.txt

also check that /etc/mail/*files* is correct too
	http://www.Linux-Sec.net/Mail/etc.mail/
		specifically local-host-names

- dont know about your majord alias definitions ...
	files might have moved around ???
	( /etc/aliases vs /etc/mail/aliases ... )
	( sendmail.*  etc .. 

- removing virtusertable does NOT make sense...
	- we had to add it to get 8.12.8 working right :-)
	( needed to at least have its own domain listed )
