When you say "trouble with the approval cycle" are you actually meaning
to say "the confirmation request"? This happens if you have your list's
subscribe_policy set to open+confirm. Are you running majordomo 1.94.5?
If you are, there is a patch to the confirmation code that makes life a
little easier in this area.
As a side note, the default bits provided via tarball at greatcircle.com
do not create this error from sendmail, nor does any of the quoting in
the majordomo.cf file. Has somebody hand modified any of the majordomo
perl scripts?
Even clicking on the portion of the error that you quoted gives me the
correct message compose window with the To: field properly completed for
me. The bigger question is this, "Why does majordomo ask you to send a
reply to xxxx.nt.edu.au if the $whereami is atlantic.xxxx.nt.edu.au?".
Is sendmail stripping the hostname off the domain address? Is this a
hard coded change in one of the perl scripts?
