Unfortunately, even using SpamAssassin causes problems when a blacklist site like osirusoft starts blocking everything since spamassassin will give a higher rating to the mail and thus determine it to be spam.  What spamassassin then does with the mail is up to configuration, but you still have the initial problem of "when osirusoft decides to block all addresses, my filter says all mail is SPAM".

This leads me to a (slightly off topic) point:
The case of osirusoft shows that using external blacklists for rejecting
mails can lead to a situation where you don't receive /any/ mail.
By having a safe (non-relaying) mailsystem and by using intelligent anti
spam software like SpamAssassin, there is IMHO no need for the use of
external maintained blacklists. (SpamAssassin does, but the way it does
is different).
