Okay, I added the ",/etc/mail/mj-alias-mydomain.com" in sendmail.cf, did the
newaliases thing, the "mj-alias-mydomain.com.db" did get created.
When I send a message to mj2, here's what came back:
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/local/majordomo/bin/mj_enqueue -o -d mydomain.com -P10 -p10"
(reason: service unavailable)
(expanded from: mj2-owner)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
smrsh: mj_enqueue not available for sendmail programs (stat failed)
554 5.0.0 Service unavailable
(I don't know if it's relevant but on other domains because of the Ensim
appliance thing, when creating Majordomo1 digests, I have to do the symbolic
link from /etc/smrsh/ to the digest.)

All you should have to do is edit your sendmail.cf and add:
,/etc/mail/mj-alias-mydomain.com
to your Aliases list ... then, run newaliases. Check /etc/mail and make
sure that a file named 'mj-alias-mydomain.com.db' gets created, and you
should be off to the races ...

what are your questions?"
Thanks! The sendmail question ...
This is my first time installing Majordomo2, and I just did it so I admit I
haven't studied all of the documentation. It's a bit overwhelming so I want
to make sure I can actually get the thing running on the server before
delving into it. (Also, I'm just beginning to learn a lot of this command
line stuff.)
Everything I've tried (in just the few hours I've been playing with it) from
the web interfaces works: subscribe, unsubscribe, changing passwords,
creating a list, and a few others. The list creation messages show up in my,
the admin's, mail. The subscription welcomes show up in their respective
subscribers mailboxes.
Using email to send commands to mj2@mydomain.com, however, the message is
simply delivered to the mj2 admin email address (me@anotherdomain.com).
There are no errors. Just the email with the commands in it.
What I have not done any of those things that are noted in the
README.SENDMAIL file. I'm so new at this that I wanted to ask first --
because I don't want to mess anything up.
Under "Configuring Sendmail," it says something about using M4 files. I only
see one, "domain-info.m4," in /etc/mail/. There is a sendmail.mc file there,
too, with the "define('ALIAS_FILE' ..." line in it. At the end of that line
is "dnl."
So, I'm thinking I should edit the sendmail.cf file in /etc/.
After the instructions in README.SENDMAIL, it says "you must rebuild these
using newaliases yourself. ..." Does that mean just running newaliases or
should I use:
/usr/bin/m4 /usr/lib/opcenter/sendmail/install/sendmail.mc >
/etc/sendmail.cf
?????
Is that enough to make the email work?
Here's some more info:
1. There is no mj2 alias in /etc/aliases.
2. In /etc/mail/ there is a "mj-alias-mydomain.com" linked to:
"/usr/local/majordomo/ALIASES/mj-alias-mydomain.com"
3. mydomain.com is on a dedicated server. Red Hat 7.3, sendmail 8.12.9,
Ensim Web Appliance (so the domains are set up in a chrooted environment and
the user and group for Majordomo2 are both set to the domain's admin name).
4. The Majordomo2 version is "current" (I got it last night, the one that
said "majordomo-current.tar" at http://ftp.silug.org/pub/mj2/snapshots/.
