But, in fact, most people on most lists don't say "put me on your list 
called 'shmizzle-announce' -- and don't you put me on any other lists" 
-- they say "put me on your list so I can receive announcements about 
shmizzles" and whether you maintain that as separate lists for 
announcements about tall, medium, and short shmizzles with a 
consolidated all-shmizzles list  or as a single list for announcements 
about shmizzles is really none of their concern, as long as you tell 
themj how to leave the list, and don't send them anything off-charter 
for what they agreed to.
