Majordomo-Users (February 2005) |
Hi, I just installed majordomo 1.94.5 on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 AS machine with sendmail 8.12.11. I tried at first to install it as majordomo:majordomo. All the pre-list tests ran fine, until I tried to send a test message to my test list. The error message in /var/log/maillog is as follows: Feb 26 01:53:00 rhelas4 sendmail[4903]: j1Q6r0ZW004903: j1Q6r0ZX004903: DSN: Can't create output Then I realized that sendmail on the box was run as user mail. So I re-installed everything as majordomo:mail. I got the same error until I made /usr/local/majordomo group writable. Now, every time I send a test message to my test list, a file by the name wrapper resend -p bulk -l testlist testlist-outgoing appears in the /usr/local/majordomo directory with owner mail:mail. But it won't send the message to the list members. Here are my questions: 1) Should I install majordomo as majordomo:mail? 2) Do I have to make /usr/local/majordomo group writeable? 3) How do I make sendmail send my message? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jiangbo Lu Senior IT Analyst Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center Information Systems Duke University Medical Center (919) 681-5405 jiangbo.lu@duke.edu
