Yes, Roy
The way to make changes which are not affected by the GUI, and which over-ride the GUI settings is to directly edit the .config file (either on the device or via email commands) and look at the very end of the file.
You'll find an entry at the end which indicates that it is the end of the machine-generated config.
Put your own entries after that, and they'll survive. Prove it to yourself.
To over-ride entries in the auto-generated text simply put your new entry here at the end. If you want to remove a setting you use:
setting =
I hope that helps.

Subject: removing the default subject prefix
We have a brand new argon server appliance running version 1.94.5 with quite
a few lists that were imported as part of the rollout of the server. It was
originally on a cobalt raq4 server.
The way we are setup, we have quite a few lists that are nested (a master
list, sending to several sub-lists, each sending to a specific group of
users). With this new version, we noticed that it adds the prefix to each
message. On the lists that are nested, we end up with multiple prefixes on
the subject line.
Is there an easy way to turn off the prefixes? I found the settings in the
individual list configs that can be changed. However every time a list gets
touched by the server's GUI, it resets the value as part of the reconfig.
Where can I find the master config for majordomo so that when the server
rewrites the config files for each list it doesn’t put the setting back in
that we removed?
Thanks!
