Back in 1997 there was a perl script called bouncefilter that had promise
of doing what you are looking for. In 1999 bouncefilter.pm was only for
majordomo II. I have not heard of any further development, but you might
google on it to see what comes up. It used to be open source
There was also autobounce, designed for majordomo in 1994. The first few
lines of comments sound more inline with what you are looking for, but it
will automatically remove bounce addresses from your lists.
Autobounce, bouncefilter, or smartbounce sites could not be found, sorry.
I may be able to cobble together the pieces you need if you want to work
with it. You will really need to dig in the old archives for any help
using or setting them up, if the docs are not sufficient. I got to the
point that any 4.x.x error was flagged for 10 days, then deleted, and an
error of 5.x.x would be removed from my lists immediately.
