The mail clients I know that are or were capable of adding "headers" to a plain
text message are pine, eudora, and mozilla based mail clients. Since you prefer
free and your OS is windows XP, mozilla/thunderbird or UW PC-Pine mail client is
probably your best match.
An article on about.com provides the following tidbit of useful information:
http://email.about.com/cs/mozillatips/qt/et030604.htm
To add custom headers to emails in Mozilla or Netscape:
* Open your user.js configuration file in an editor.
* Add 'user_pref("mail.compose.other.header", "{custom headers}");'.
o Replace {custom headers} above with a comma-separated list of the headers you want to be available.
* o "Sender,X-Y" adds the Sender: and X-Y: headers, for example.
* Save the file and close the editor.
You still have to enter the values for the headers manually when creating messages in Mozilla or Netscape.
What this means, is that you can follow the instructions to create a custom
header called "Approved", then when you compose messages, you can select this
header and add the value (your list password), before hitting send.
As for your "too many recipients" message from Yahoo,
first, majordomo IS a list management software
second, the problem must be solved outside majordomo
An MTA is what gives/takes messages to/from majordomo. The MTA is also what
makes connections to other ISPs/domains MTA to deliver email. Your provider
either needs to contact and make arrangements with Yahoo to accept messages
with more than "X" number of recipients, or add a program like bulk_mailer
or TLB in between majordomo and the local MTA to split up the number of Yahoo
users that will be included in a single email.

Greetings,
I’m a Majordomo newbie. The program (v. 1.94.4) is hosted on my ISP’s server
so I thought it could be an economic way to run a couple of mailing lists
for a better communication with our stakeholders. We’re a non-profit so
price counts a lot, and we’re not trying to sell or promote donation with
our emails.
I started with a few test lists, but the problems arised soon; the thing is
that I’m using Outlook 2003 (win XP Pro), and apparently it’s imposible to
add the approval header.
Do you recomend trying with another email client? (Freeware is better)
Another problem is that we need to send a lot of emails to free accounts;
Hotmail and Gmail seems to go all right but yahoo keeps sending a “too many
recipients” bounce. Can I solve this with Majordomo? Should I consider
buying a list management software? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
