Hello!

I'm about to reinstall Majordomo 1.94.5 on my FreeBSD box. I noticed that there is a choice of installing either with MD5 or SHA1 cookies. So far it seems I have MJ installed with MD5 cookies, but if I now install it with SHA1 cookies I can avoid reinstalling one extra package of the system.

What exactly are these 'cookies' used for and is there a risk of breaking something by replacing MD5 cookies with SHA1?
