[ I originally sent this to majordomo-users but didn't receive a
response, so i thought i might try here. since i'm not on
majordomo-workers myself, i would appreciate being included in any
reply. thanks. ]

we are running majordomo 1.92 on a variety of boxes including a DECstation
5260 running Ultrix 4.4 and a 50 MHz 486 running BSDI/OS 1.1 and are
concerned with how long additions (and deletions) are taking to the
various mailing lists we have set up. one of the lists has close to
25,000 members and the searching that is_list_member does is taking too
long, especially since some days we get hundreds of subscription requests.

has anyone made any changes to 1.92 to address this sort of problem.
perhaps using a DBM database for the actual lookup, while maintaining the
ASCII file for sendmail to :include:?

thanks,

dsc
