Agreed. But such a major change like this shouldn't be for a minor
release. It should be saved for Majordomo version 2.0

Version 1.94 should be released, maybe one more release afterwards to fix
bugs (and *only bugs; no new features). After that it should be agreed
upon that no more versions should be released until 2.0, which would take
advantage of perl 5.

It would confuse many people to convert 1.94 to perl 5 (which would
require it to go back and recode what's already working)
