I think that heavy-duty archive stuff doesn't really belong in majordomo.
Commends like "get" barely belong there.  It's quite easy to have external
programs to do archive management; I provide access to all of my archives
through the web; <URL:http://www.hpc.uh.edu/fvwm/archive/> is an example of
what you can get with a little hacking.  It is fully searchable using the
Glimpse search engine.
