Hi,
and thanks very much for every help, if You have an idea:
I tried to install majordomo on a Linux 2.0.13 box.
After starting insuccesfull, reading the FAQ and documentation really
helped ;)
But the system is behaving rather strange when I try to test (unleash?)
majordomo.
Sending an "help" mail message to majordomo starts by eating up memory.
More and more and more, until it's finished (swap too, of course).
After that, things start to revert, and finally I get not _one_, but two
mail messages:
one with the expected answer from majordomo to the help request, another one
(surrounding the previous one) with something like "delivery impossible,
Out of memory".
I'm using Perl 5.002 and majordomo-1.93. Despite the fact that the doc
says that 1.93 works fine with Perl 5.00x, there is (at least...)
one instance of an occurence of an un-backslashed @ that was reported as an
error by Perl. It looks to me that there would be other occurences as
well that should be corrected. However, I did correct just the one about
Perl did complain.
Sendmail is 8.7.5/8.6.11.
Thank You for any suggestion; for now, I really have no idea where to
look for: is it majordomo? or Perl? or Linux?
(Not to mention that I'm not very eager to try too often. After eating up
the memory, occasionally some daemons die or at least stop working - of
course, the accounting one was the first hit by this. Another time, named
stopped working - altough it wasn't zombified. So starting majordomo is
as good as being prepared to reboot. Sigh.)
