I would really hate to see *any* work done on 2.0 without a detailed
roadmap of where it's going. I'd be glad to work on 2.0 provided that
the requirements and specifications are well defined in advance. I'm not
saying they have to be cast in concrete, just that it's impossible to
achieve a goal with knowing what that goal is, especially when work is
spread over several developers on more than one continent.

Absolutely. At one time there was a discussion on this list about
basically making Mj 2.0 more of a server for which the e-mail client was
standard, with at least a Web client envisioned. Although that doesn't
preclude a Majordomo module, it's certainly a horse of a quite different
color.
