The problem with using the web as your primary input is now the
mailing list database (flat file, or relational or whatever.) must be
at least in comumication with your list processing host.
This works fine sometimes. But doesn't other times. When you have a
deicated web host (outside your firewall) and deicated mail hub
(inside your firewall.) How do you propose to make this work?
Drill a hole in your fire wall for a coms channel?
Mirror the database inside and outside the firewall (how do
you do updates?)
It just doesn't sound resonable to me to make the comms channel a web
page. Unless someone can answer the basic question of how do you make
this configuration work?
Or is the configuration that unusal?
