Well, you do have the source so you're free to change that line, but you
will have to rewrite other sections of the code to actually strip the
whitespace from the front of the headers and indeed from every line, else
1) the mailer will barf on the leading whitespace in the headers it
receives and 2) you will have altered the original message by sticking a
whole bunch of space in front of every line. This is, as you can imagine,
pretty difficult to do without stripping intended spaces.
I brought up the possibility of working around broken mailer behavior like
this during the last big resend hack and it was universally decided that it
was not worth the effort.
