You just say:
subscribe yourlist someone@somewhere.com (That person I met on holiday \
last year)
or
subscribe yourlist That Twit from Down the Road <twit@twit.com>
Both work.
You may need a \ slash before the line break if your mail program inisists
on wrapping.
