As soon as someone comes up with a method that works, it will be
implemented. You don't even have to supply the code, although it would be
appreciated.
What we've thought of:
Embed some secret string in all messages sent out, ignore all messages that
come in with that string.
The problems with this are that people reply to majordomo messages and
might include the original as quoted text (happens to me often) and most
autoresponders don't return the original message, they return some notice.
Have a couple of arrays, like taboo_headers and taboo_body, that work for
Majordomo instead of the lists. You could incorporate the above idea in
with this, if so inclined.
The problem here is one of default value. What do we ignore? It can't
catch things you haven't seen before, so you'll still end up with an
occasional loop.
I think the second suggestion makes sense, but there's always a better one
somewhere. I don't think there's anything that will prevent all loops.
