My apologies for dropping in on your list, but I have a question that I
need some clarification on.
I recently upgraded from Majordomo 1.92 to 1.94. I have several mailing
lists that are set to auto-reply back to the list via the option in the
list's config file.
Under 1.92, if a user sent a message to the list that already had a Reply-To
header, Majordomo would strip that old Reply-To header and replace it with
the list's defined header.
Under 1.94, if a user sends a message with a Reply-To header, that header is
left intact and the list's Reply-To header is added to the bottom of the
headers of the outgoing message. This isn't -- as far as I know -- at least
valid for mail headers, but the end result is that the user's Reply-To
header overrides the one Majordomo adds (because it's encountered first when
a user replies to this mail).
I can't find anything in the documentation to describe this as a change in
the Reply-To behaviour, and I tried searching the mailing list archives on
www.meadow.net (per the FAQ) with not much success.
Can someone please drop me an email and let me know if this is indeed the
correct behaviour under 1.94 so I can alert my users, or if it's not, what I
might do to correct this? I'm not sure if this list's membership is open,
but I'm not currently on the list, so please send a reply my way with any
reccommendations.
