Thanks, Chan. I guess they don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Switzerland,
but I have a feeling there will be more eating than testing tomorrow.
Seeing as how I have little else to do, though, I'll be hacking.

So far, everything looks fine. There are a few open issues:

Makefile:
cc should configurable; Dave's version had this.
SHELL is overloaded to be both the SHELL for execution within the Makefile
  and for the wrapper. This makes me vaguely uneasy.
There are a couple of slipped edits, like the commend about chown using `:'
  which is no longer necessary.

config-test:

We still need to work out how to support checking of alternate configs.
  The same one line fix should still apply.
There are a couple of typos.
Do we really want to berate the users that much? I like beating on people
  who can't be bothered to read the directions, but some people are extra
  sensitive.
Hmmph?

resend:

The virtual Majordomo hack went in, but it really should be configurable,
  especially since it doesn't seem to work:

#!/usr/local/bin/perl5
$whereami="virtual.com";
$opt_l="fvwm";
$a="To: fvwm\@sina.hpc.uh.edu";
$a =~ s/^to:(.*)\b$opt_l\b(.*)$/To:$1 $opt_l\@$whereami $2/i;
print "$a\n";

produces:

To:  fvwm@virtual.com @sina.hpc.uh.edu

A test message to my ends up with the same kind of breakage. $opt_l does
_not_ contain the hostname, and even if it did, it just won't handle things
like this, which I see all the time:

To: fvwm@sina.hpc.uh.edu mailing list <fvwm@hpc.uh.edu>

I really don't think this was thought through well enough. Arbitrarily
rewriting headers (especially an address header, which can have so many
possible formats) is really difficult to get right, and one line isn't
going to do it. Plus, I already have Sendmail putting my headers in
canonical domain-only format; I don't need Majordomo trying to do it
again. People using virtual domains should really discuss this.

CW> I'll stick these up on the ftp server tomorrow or later tonight.

I went ahead and put the patch and install.sh in
ftp.hpc.uh.edu:/pub/majordomo.  Be sure to chmod +x install.sh.

I'll whip up patches to these if I can stay awake long enough.
