I don't understand.  Approve doesn't call mail or Mail or any of the user
agents, it formats a complete message and calls sendmail.  At least it does
now (i.e. in 1.94).  Ah, but the old 1.92 and 1.93 versions did.

Since the current versions of the program use sendmail (or any other mailer
you choose to define) there's no need to do this.

BTW, if you have the diff program you can make patches just by typing 

diff -c file.old file

and you won't have to send the entire thing.
