Most of the participants to my lists are so new to email
that they cannot understand that not everyone has the
same operating system and mail reader. I have tried
many times to explain that attachments don't work
for everyone and that they are gibberish in the digest.
Recently I set taboo_headers and taboo_body to catch
the email containing attachments, and now they get
bounced to me.
Yesterday I caught the first one, fixed it, and sent
a note to the sender saying, "Please don't." He
sent a message back saying, "so sorry, won't do
it again, don't know how it happened."
This morning it happened again, same sender.
According to his X-Mailer header, he is using
Microsoft Outlook Express 4.71.0544.0.
Can anyone tell me what he needs to do to
send a plain text message, not this doubly
attached (text attachment, then html attachment)
nonsense? Remember that I will be forwarding
the instructions to someone whose grasp of
technology is tenuous.
Thanks, and apologies for what is not really
a mj question.
