In what way does the existing $majordomo_dont_reply not fit your need?

Yes, there are much more advanced schemes in 2.0, but that won't be out for
a while.  The existing functionality in 1.9x should work for the limited
application you mention, and if it doesn't then it would take only a couple
of lines of code to add it.
